To Heal

After an EP that obsesses over the individual who played with you until you broke, ‘To Heal’ is about letting yourself breath and focus on your own healing. It’s about the slow journey to recovery, a journey that requires full focus on yourself

LYRICS

Slow steps to the peak
To heal is to walk with a light at your feet
Pain had made a home in you
It hasn’t made a throne in you

Strength comes to the weak
To heal is to fall into uncertainty
With the trust that letting go
Eventually will let you grow

This one’s for you now baby,
You won’t find him here
This one’s for healing baby,
You’ll see when it’s clear

This one’s for you now baby,
You have been brave
You can start moving baby,
Surrender the pain
Surrender your pain

From ashes you grew
To heal is to turn to the faith you withdrew
Brokenness will not define,
Your feet will shortly realign

This one’s for you now baby,
You won’t find him here
This one’s for healing baby,
You’ll see when it’s clear

This one’s for you now baby,
You have been brave
You can start moving baby,
Surrender the pain
Surrender your pain

CREDITS

Vocals and Piano by Ella Sterland

Produced and Mixed by Van Lucia

Mastered by Stuart Hawkes

‘To Heal’ was developed from some chords I wrote for a different song. I loved the chords so much so I wanted to create something new with them, and it was important that I finish the EP on a note of self help rather than just brokenness and heart ache
